Lower Hardware Requirements
A bunch of promised updates in this release including (but not limited to) lowering the hardware requirements for running the simulator.
Included in this update:
- Limited rendering scalability options
- Streaming textures
- Stable physics down to 10 FPS
- Changed wind control key bindings to I-J-K-L
- Enabled development flight stick controls
- Softer steering assist
Streaming textures and rendering scalability options should enable running the simulator on a lot more hardware that's out there compared to the previous releases. But if that does not bring the frame-rate up to gaming levels of 60 or so frames per second, the sub-stepping on physics thread will keep the simulation stable without slowing down the simulated time even at frame-rates as low as 10 FPS.
Other smaller updates include development preview of flight stick controls (currently works only on Windows in third-person view), wind controls moved from numerical keyboard to I-J-K-L, and small tweaks to mouse control steering assist.
The support from the hang-gliding community has so far been phenomenal for which I am sincerely grateful. Thank you all so much!
