Mini-game Update #24
Client-side physics are now a part of the new redesigned simulator. That means that testers joining a multiplayer sessions have the same experience with the physics as if they were playing a local game.
You can see that in the video if you pay attention to the small game window and compare with previous recordings. The frame rate is sometimes low because my machine is struggling with two game instances while video streaming at the same time. The overlay at the bottom of the screen is the server instance, small window is one client, and you can also see another droid in the game which is a tester connected as a second client in the game.
Very soon I’ll make that also available for local area network games so you can download the mini-game for free and fly with your friends!
I have just a few issues with integration of the new physics into the game which I need to address. Attaching rope being the most prominent one. After that I’ll work on new features using the hang gliders, ground handling and flying. Also rework menus to enable LAN and make play test easier.
More updates coming soon so stay tuned!
P.S. Music in this clip is by David Hilowitz (CC with attribution), he’s music is awesome and he has a great YT channel too. Go check him out! ;)
